Cal. 16 Ga. 2 1/2" / 8x57 JR. S# 32491. The 26 3/4" bbls. are fitted w/ claw scope bases, pop-up U-notch rear & silver bead front sights in full length matted rib. Retailer’s name (Waffenhaus Bernards, Duisburg) is on milled out portion of rib. Bottoms of bbls. are stamped w/ February 1928 German Nitro proofs. Bottom of rear lump is stamped w/ griffon over “GREIF” (Griefelt logo). Blued scallop backed Blitz action has rifle selector on top tang & Greener type side safety. Action features pin cocking indicators, crossbolt third fastener, bushed strikers, sideclips, reinforced action & dbl. triggers (front set). Action is line border engraved w/ some minor scroll. Trigger guard is steel. Plain European capped pistolgrip buttstock measures 14 1/4" over “Whiteline” pad & features usual right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering & sling loop. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: SHOTGUN BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .667", L .669". Restriction: R .025" (MOD), L .025" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .030", L .030". STOCK: DAH: 3". DAC: 1 1/2". LOP: 14 1/4". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 8 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black plastic case. CONDITION: fair to good, bbls. retaining most of an old reblack over considerable marks & dents. Action w/ perhaps 20% old reblue has later hand-worn gray patina. Stocks w/ old oil refinish show considerable subsequent wear, checkering filled w/ finish & considerable worn, half gone on forend. Shotgun bores are pitted but fairly shiny. Rifle bore shows pitting in grooves. Stocks show some cracks in side panels & w/ reinforcing pin through cheeks. Safety is very stiff. Otherwise, mechanically good. Set trigger needs adj. but does appear to work. (22-4901/MGM). CURIO. $500-1,000.
