EXTREMELY DESIRABLE COMMERCIAL MODEL REISING SMG.
Cal. 45. S# 6803. Bbl. 14". Very early, possibly first year production variant of the H&R Reising SMG. There are several features that are indicative of the early guns most often identified as commercial, though H&R has not ever acknowledged any distinction between separate commercial & military models. Deep blue finish on all exposed metal surfaces. 29 Fin tapered bbl. terminating at slotted muzzle brake. Oblong safety/selector which exhibits interesting case coloring. 3.75" oval access slot under stock for action bar. 2 Screw stamped trigger guard. Front sight fixed blade & rear sight elevation adj. peep. Markings on top of receiver (read from right side as opposite to left side oriented stamping on more common models) “MODEL 50-H&R REISING-CAL. 45 / HERRINGTON & RICHARSON ARMS CO. / WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A. Pat. Pending”. Safety selector markings include “SAFE-S.A.-F.A.”. Blued 20 rd. mag. well. Dark stained hardwood stock & metal buttplate. Take down screw rear of mag. well requires screw driver for disassembly, unlike the more current knurled knob version. MAGS: 1 factory 20 rd. CONDITION: bluing on all exposed metal surfaces is thick & rich, approx. 1.5" area of thinning/scratching at 10 o’clock on receiver. Light staining in finish on receiver in front of rear sight. Stock is exemplary w/ only few light impressions & two hairline fractures that appear to follow the grain on right side. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. Shiny bore w/ strong rifling. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-1480/JZ). CURIO CLASS III. $4,500-6,500.
