LONDON OPEN TOP SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 CF. S# 6. Standard configuration, 7.5" rnd. bbl. w/ 1 line New York address, British proofs on left side of housing, German silver crescent front sight, integral notch rear sight, ejector housing w/ knurled ejector rod head. Ormsby Naval battle scene rolled cylinder w/ British proofs. Blued bbl. & cyl., case colored hammer andframe, silver plated brass backstrap & trigger guard, varnished walnut grips. Frame has no patent dates & tiny serial numbers point to this being very early production. Most production is rimfire but this revolver only chambers “44 Russian” cartridge. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom Lucite stand. CONDITION: extremely fine, matching S# “6” found inside bbl. housing, face of cyl., back of frame, trigger guard, backstrap under grips, back of loading door & backstrap channel of grips. Bbl., cyl., & trigger retain 95%+ original bright factory blue w/ minor cosmetic losses. Rolled Naval battle scene is crisp & complete. Frame & hammer retain virtually all their bright case colors on left side w/ losses to left side where case colors have faded to silver/gray. Silver plating is 95%+ intact. Grip has 95%+ original factory varnish w/ edge wear & several cosmetic dents & dings. Mechanically fine with bright shiny crisp rifled bore. (01-19958/JS). ANTIQUE. $30,000-40,000.
