EXTREMELY NICE ORIGINAL US INLAND MODEL OF 1945

SEMI-AUTO M1 CARBINE. Cal. 30 M1 Carb. S# 6728987. Bbl. 18", marked "INLAND MFG DIV. GENERAL MOTORS 11-44". "P" proof is in correct position in front of bayonet lug. Stamped adj. aperture rear sight marked "I.R. CO". Blade front sight w/ protective ears marked "N". This carbine is in extremely nice condition w/ clear markings, original finish & features. These carbines produced near the end of production generally saw little if any use in combat, in this configuration. Front band w/ bayonet lug & wire swivel. 6 o'clock slide marked "PI". Rnd. bolt marked "AI". Forged trigger guard marked "Inland". Push button safety. Mag. catch marked w/ "M" & "HI". Straight cut hammer marked "HI". Walnut low wood oval cut stock marked "IO" in sling slot & has crossed cannons ordnance mark on right side. 4 Rivet walnut handguard marked w/ faint "A". Green web sling w/ W-oiler. MAGS: 3-15 rd. marked "AI", "UQ", "IA". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 6 5/8" inch blade M4 bayonet w/ leather washer handle. Bayonet marked on front of cross guard w/ "U.S. M4 IMPERIAL" as made by The Imperial Knife Co. Original green scabbard marked "U.S. M8 B.M.CO" w/ web & composite construction M1910 belt hook. Bayonet has been lightly sharpened but retains lg. percentage of original finish w/ light wear & scattered scratches. Leather washer handle in notably good condition w/ very light wear. Scabbard has light overall wear & staining. Original WWII green web 2 pocket mag. pouch marked "RUBON" dated 1942 & U.S. on flap. Green canvas carbine case w/ zippered closure marked "U.S." Case has green web sling. There is loose stitching at leather tab & early sm. stitched repair at tip but case is serviceable. CONDITION: stock set has very nice original finish w/ legible markings, scattered light handling marks, notable sm. dent on left side of forend behind band. Metal has 90% original finish w/ light high point wear. Very good shiny bore. (21-3561/RW). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
