Rocky Mountain front sight w/ elevator adj. semi buckhorn rear sight & Marbles combination tang sight. Full length takedown mag. Action has rare dbl. set triggers. XXX black walnut forearm & stock w/ style H factory checkering. Stock is perch belly configuration w/ extremely rare cheekpiece & is fitted w/ crescent steel buttplate & Winchester sling eyes. Military style leather sling is on original Win. swivel hooks. Inside lower tang has assembly "12490" followed by "XXX" wood grade marking & "CT". Back end of stock has matching assembly number "92 / 12490". Rifles with this combination of rare features are extremely seldom seen. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating the following information: "Caliber: 32 / Barrel Type: Octagon, matted / Trigger: Set / Fancy checkered stock / Cheek piece / Sights: Rocky Mountain front / Takedown / Sling and swivel / Received in warehouse on August 9, 1901 / Shipped from warehouse on August 9, 1901, Order number 103323". CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a pleasing brown patina showing an area of sm. dents around bbl. takedown extension. Original stock finish shows wear & age darkening w/ numerous scratches, dents & handling marks. Stock has sm. repair right of top tang. Checkering is carefully freshened.
