Early American Flintlock Rifle
Wall or Punt gun with plain steel mounts and approx 50 inch barrel with 65 inch overall in 80 cal. With smooth bore an approx 10GA. The lock appears to be of a replacement to the correct period, showing Tower and GR about 1780-1800 period and the stock and mounts are mid to 3rd quarter of the 18th century. It has both Germanic and American styling and features an old collection or museum. Number is painted on left side of stock "1221" with heavy brown patina with rust and erosion showing matching age to lock and parts. Numerous stock cracks,and alot of distress from general aging. Some screws replaced and lock not working but complete. A period ram-rod. James Aplan likely obtained from the local tribal members as kept a long while in his museum. Antique Firearm NRA Poor/Fair
