Early Germanic full stock musket with a full stock and brass hardware. The lock shows a curved banana shape circa 1680-1790’s, fancy brass mounts with a pierced side plate showing angels with trumpets. There is araised carved serpent around the cheek piece. The metal shows light to moderate pitting and erosion and was lightly cleaned long ago. The stock is good with weathering and shrinkage around the butt plate along withsome small round worms in the wood. The musket is 53” in overall length with a 38 ½” barrel of approximately .58-.60 caliber smoothbore. Thin sheet brass bands and brass tipped ramrod included. The lock isoriginal with correct period parts and works well. Just the type arm used in early colonial America. Est.: $750-$1,500. (Antique).
