Early Hollow Handle Survival Knife, by Mike England, with Sheath and Letter from the Maker, 9" bead blasted blade with sawtooth spine, 14-3/8" overall, bead blasted stainless guard, black cord wrapped hollow aluminum handle, with a removable bead blasted aluminum butt cap. Butt cap with compass. One side of the blade with maker's logo and 3" measurement scale. Blade markings on this early knife are different than what you see on the later production knives. In original brown leather Mike England sheath with EZE-Lap sharpener. Included is a business card and letter that is on company letterhead and signed by Mike England that states this knife was "one of the first of its kind" and mentions that due to its popularity a similar "Production Model" would be available in the future. Knife is in excellent condition, appearing unused. Cutting edge is sharp and unblemished. There are a few tiny specks of rust on the guard. No fraying to the cord wrapped handle. Compass functions correctly. There are intermittent light scuffs and scratches to the outside of the sheath, heaviest are from the EZE-Lap sharpening pen, verdigris present on the snaps, stitching and seams are excellent. There is some wear and tarnishing to the outside of the sharpener. Est.: $500-$700.
