Early Pair of Civil War Crutches Attributed to John Bell Hood. Made of Oak, 49& #34; in Length X 6.75& #34; at Widest point. Each one has thin steel bands at the split for added strength and Copper caps that are double lined and attached with Copper screws. The tops are padded and covered with a linen material and secured with pinhead nails.

***Wood shows some wear in the mid hand grip areas as well as the lower leg sections from handling & amp; use. The upper linen padding covers show significant wear but are still fully intact. The wood connections are tight. Overall in very good to excellent for age***
