Early Shiloh Sharps Model 1874 Single Shot Target Rifle, #1563, .45-100 (.45-2.6) cal; 34" heavy octagonal barrel with standard matte blue finish is marked on the top barrel flat "Old Reliable", "SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO.", "CALIBRE .45" and "2 6/10". Receiver, lever, and hammer with a very nice color case hardened finish; left side is marked "SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO./FARMINGDALE, N.Y." Fancy oil-finished pistol-grip walnut stock and forend, with cheekpiece and shotgun butt. Barrel with a globe front sight, no provision for a barrel mounted rear sight; a sight base only is mounted to the upper tang. Rifle also features double set triggers and checkered lower tang. Matching numbered barrel. Rifle is in excellent condition, appearing near new. Barrel retains approx. 99% original factory metal finish, with only a few light marks from handling. Approx. 97%-98% vibrant case colors remain, with mild fading to the lever. Wood with an attractive grain pattern and only a few minor handling marks. Action operates smoothly and double set triggers function properly. Bore is mirror bright with excellent rifling. A very clean rifle, which the condition would be hard to improve upon.
