For parts, or repair. Pattern 14, a British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British. Manufactured in Eddystone, Pennsylvania by the Remington Arms Company of Delaware, circa 1914-1916. Import marks were not found, but there are markings on the right side of the barrel that are not legible. This rifle is marked for drill purpose only (DP) on numerous parts, and the red and white stripes also designate that this is a drill purpose rifle. Rifle features a blued finish, an approximately 26" barrel, protected blade front sight, adjustable folding ladder rear aperture sight, serrated curved trigger, serrated receiver mounted manual safety, dog-leg style bolt handle, and a smooth floorplate. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth finger grooved forend, no stacking swivel, sling swivel on the rear barrel band, sling swivel on the bottom of the shoulder stock, and a smooth metal butt plate with a storage compartment. In red and white paint, the shoulder stock is marked 'B 28' on the left side, and 'F' on the right side. Stock and handguard have notches cut in the chamber area where plugs are typically installed. This rifle does not have a rod welded into the chamber. Volley sights are not present, but the plate is inlayed into the forend. The original blued finish retained is approximately 75% with edge wear, and thinning on the barrel bands and bolt knob. Metal displays small dents and dings, and there is rust visible on the front sight assembly. Stock is in fair condition with a crack on the left side, a repair on the right side, and minor handling wear considering the rifle's age. The action seems sound, and in good condition. Bore is bright with strong rifling. This non-firing rifle is good for collecting, repair, or parts.
Condition is NRA Poor (Non-functional)
