NVSN. A good 19th Century .54 calibre Adams patent officer's revolver by London gun maker Cogswell, 6" blued steel octagonal barrel bearing the name "B. Cogswell 224 The Strand, London", proof marks crown over V, blued steel action, engraved "Adams Patent, No. 32585R on right frame and cylinder. Crown V proof, and "L.A.C. on barrel, wood checkered grips with steel cap. Swing-up loading lever mounted on left frame. Spur-less hammer. Bore is good with very light areas of pitting, rifled with 3 narrow grooves, wood grips are very good, action is smooth/tight, original nipples on cylinder. There is a small lever on the rear of the right to seat the caps on the nipples. Blue is about 60% with the rest a gray/brown patina, numerous scratches/edge wear, there is some surface on the muzzle, and front sight, there is some areas of pitting on the rear of the top strap. Markings are clear/readable. NRA Condition-Very good as Antique firearm.
