Euroarms 1861 Springfield .58 Cal SN: 33639
High quality Italian made reproduction of the 1861 Springfield percussion musket in .58 caliber. This rifle has been professionally defarbed with the visible Italian markings removed, the serial number relocated to the bottom of the barrel, the barrel stamped with period markings, the stock stamped with period markings & likely some other stock work performed. This work appears to be signed with “D.J.M.” stamped in block letters on the underside of the barrel below the relocated serial number. Rifle configuration: in-the-white finish, 40" barrel, blade front sight, blued leaf sight (one standing & two folding), three barrel bands, steel ram rod, smooth trigger, full-length straight grip walnut stock and steel buttplate. Markings: Barrel - "V/P/[Eagle Head]" & “1861”. Lock - "U.S./SPRINGFIELD", "[eagle]/[arrows]" & “1861”. Stock - “JDZ” inside an oval, script “P” & Buttplate "U.S.” & “45./PA./C.” unit marking. Includes a correct style white cloth sling, 18" U.S. marked socket bayonet & leather scabbard. Rifle shows a light cleaning with all metal parts bright. The two-cock action is smooth/tight, the rifled bore is excellent, the markings are crisp/clear and the figured walnut stock is fine with a .75” hairline crack extending from the front of the lock. Very clean work done on this rifle, great for a reenactor. Condition is NRA Excellent. ***Antique Firearm***
