Excellent Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 4th Model Target (Model of 1950/Pre-Model 24) Double Action Revolver, #S144700, .44 S&W Spec. cal., 6.5" pinned barrel, blue finish, checkered diamond center walnut grips with S&W medallions, Patridge front sight, square-notch fully adjustable rear sight, color case hardened .265 serrated trigger and .400" target hammer. Frame and yoke with matching assembly numbers (59755). Barrel, cylinder, extractor, and right grip are numbered to the gun. Shipped to Sloan's Sporting Goods, New York, NY, April 25, 1955; with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. Letter verifies barrel length and finish. In unnumbered two-piece blue box with silver lettering. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 98%+ blue. There is some light wear visible on the front sight and a very faint index line to the cylinder. Factory lettering is clear. Case colors are strong, approx. 99% remain. Grips are like new with sharp checkering. Action cycles smoothly and locks up securely. Bore is bright with well-defined rifling. Box shows typical light storage type wear, lettering is clear, metal reinforced corners are intact. Est.: $1,600-$2,200. (C&R/PPT)
