Exclusive State of California 2024 Open Zone Deer Tag

This is a rare opportunity for one hunter to hunt in ANY of the California deer zones with any legal method during the specified season e.g. archery equipment during the bow season and general method during the general season.

There are two subspecies of deer in California: black-tailed deer and mule deer.

The hunt dates are for the 2024 hunting season based on the chosen zone. The hunter is allowed to take one deer on this tag.

You do not need to be a CA resident however you need to meet all requirements (including hunter safety certification) to be issued either a resident or non-resident hunting license. Any resident or non-resident including anyone who has previously purchased this tag may bid and receive this special tag. Fundraising tags such as this from the California Department of Fish & Wildlife generate dedicated funding for wildlife management programs that benefit big game species.

Not included: travel, guide fees; any other related expenses. This tag is subject to all existing conditions required for the take of the species, including any required hunting license and hunter orientation programs identified in Title 14, California Code of Regulations. This tag is non-transferable. This tag will be awarded only after final adoption of the annual mammal hunting and trapping regulations by the California Fish and Game Commission (usually early May).

The full amount bid will be reimbursed to the high bidder should a hunting season not be implemented for the species and/or location advertised.

Approved seasons, regulations, zones and dates may be found here: https://wildlife.ca.gov/Hunting/Deer.
