Cal. 303 British. S# B2626. Bbl. 20 1/2" including cone shaped flash hider; sight blade marked "F" broad arrow "V" & "O". Mfg. 1945 w/ correct features to include: matching bolt having hollow handle, receiver lightening cuts, shortened forend set, steel framed rubber recoil pad, side sling mount & 4th variation 200-800 rear sight having milled parts plus 2nd variation 1/2 threaded elevation screw. Buttstock w/ 874 stamped on left by recoil pad holder, 58 stamped behind trigger guard & "C" over 27 in white paint on right side of buttstock. Receiver w/ FTR rebuild mark. 2nd variation safety w/ serrated cross drilled thumbpiece retained by cross pin. No, 3 bolt head. Lanyard loop on trigger guard that is narrowed behind screw but inletted for non narrowed guard. Import marked on bottom of bbl. behind bayonet lug. Light green canvas sling marked "J.S.&S.Co." & date that appears to be 1953; brass metal ends. Underside of forend faintly marked B2626. 2nd variation bayonet marked "R.F.1" having wood handles retained by 2 bolts. 8" blued blade w/ fullers. MAGS: fair refinished 10 rd. numbered BD5258 plus prior number X'd out; body dents & prior pitting. CONDITION: good appearance w/ metal finish best appearing. Forend cap, butt pad retainer & bbl. band w/ brown patina. Extra finish, handling marks & scraped finish on stock set. Very good sling set. Fair to good bore w/ wear & noticeable frosting to light pitting throughout. PROVENANCE: from the estate collections of Charles P. Obremski. (22-1362/NW). CURIO. $500-750.
