Cal. 16 Ga., 2 5/8". S# 239593. The 28" bbls. on "1" frame marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. PARKER SPEC. STEEL." on concave matted rib. Bbl. flats stamped w/ steel type, Parker overload proofs & weight. S# is on left side of lump. Frame & ga. markings are on bottom of rear lump. Typical case hardened Parker hammerless action features automatic safety ("SAFE" engraved) & dbl. triggers. Water table stamped w/ all correct markings. Action engraved w/ 50% coverage sprays of scroll within geometric & scroll borders surrounding game birds in oval vignettes on sides; ducks on left, quail on right. "PARKER" is on bottom of action. Trigger plate has circular scene of a pair of pheasant, one standing, one flying. Blued trigger guard has scroll on bow, S# is on tang. Nicely stump figured American walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over Parker dog's head buttplate without spur. Checkering at grip is of typical "G" point pattern. A vacant silver shield is on toeline. Matching splinter forend has steel tip & typical Parker release. Interior of iron stamped w/ S#. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .664" L .664". Restriction: R .029 (FULL), L .028 (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .026, L .025". STOCK: DAH: 3 1/16". DAC: 2 1/16". LOP: 14". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 12 oz. This gun matches specifications as listed in the "PARKER GUN INDENTIFICIATION & SERIALIZATION" ledger. CONDITION: very fine as partially refinished. Bbls. retaining approx. 90% of their original blue, thinned from normal hand wear above forend, silvered along sharp edges. Action retains essentially all of a factory type recolor hardening with some subsequent rust spots & flecking on top tang & trigger plate. Trigger guard retains nearly all of a correct reblue over some scattered pits on bow, subsequently silvered a bit on tang. Stocks retain nearly all of what appears to be their original finish cleaned up & w/ added oil over a few light knicks & areas of darkening w/ some subsequent marks. Checkering lightly worn & right grip panel has some dents & missing diamonds. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. (22-10/MGM). CURIO. $5,000-7,000.
