MILLER TRIGGER. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 89850 (circa 1948). Bbls. 28" dovetailed fitted w/ slightly raised matted game rib engraved on tops "Abercrombie & Fitch Co." " Made in Belgium" & "U.S. Agents New York". Bbl. flats stamped w/ Belgian Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Bottoms of bbls. engraved w/ choke restrictions ".686" & ".713". Case hardened side plated boxlock action features automatic safety ("S" inlaid in gold), hidden crossbolt third fastener, side clips & Miller SST w/ rocker type selector. Action engraved in usual 20E style. w/ 80% coverage simple scroll. Fences engraved in acanthus motif & some shaded lg. scroll. Maker's name & address are at bottom of left sideplate. Scroll engraved blued trigger guard has S# on tang. Nicely fiddle figured European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over leather faced "Silver" type pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: bore diameter: right .724", left .724". Restriction: right .008" (IC), left .007" (Full). Min. Wall Thickness: right .024", left .030", STOCKS: LOP: 14". DAC: 1 7/16". DAH: 2 7/16". No cast. WEIGHT: 6 lbs., 10 oz. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Bbls. retaining over 90% original blue. w/ some scattered freckling that should clean. Action retains approx. 80% original case hardening color fading & graying around bottom & fences. Top lever & trigger guard retain about 90% of their original blue. Stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish w/ raised grain & are a bit dry. This is a sm. crack behind right lockplate. Checkering w/ light wear is a bit dirty. Bores very fine shiny, (noted; minor dent in right bbl. about 11' from breech end w/ corresponding scratches on bbl.). Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Ejectors are strong & in time, right ejector is sometimes live. Trigger appears to work well. A fine example one of these very well made shotguns. (21-2503/MGM). CURIO. $2,000-4,000.
