KENTUCKY RIFLE. Cal. 41. NSN. Bbl. 34 1/2" oct. Overall length 50 1/2". Each bbl. marked “JOHN SHULER / LIVERPOOL, PA”. Inset brass blade front sights, fixed inset notch rear sights, dbl. set triggers, back action lock engraved w/ maker mark “HENRY PARKER”. All brass mounted w/ engraved pierced 4 piece patchbox, engraved toeplate, sideplate & triggerguard. Swivel breech is operated by cocking to half-cock position & bbls. can be turned & locked in place. 6 German silver insets mounted on nicely striped maple stock. John Shuler Jr. from the famous Shuler family of gunmakers was active starting about 1832. CONDITION: very good to fine overall. Lock & bbls. have dark, smooth iron patina. Stock has only minor cosmetic blemishes w/ no apparent alterations on insets, handworn patina, mechanically fine w/ crisp, discernable rifled bores. (01-19973/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
