Barrel marked with one line Hartford address. 6 Shot fluted cylinder with London crown over V view marks at rear of cylinder between each chamber. Black powder frame. Bull's eye ejector head. Full nickel finish. One piece walnut grips. Left side of trigger guard below caliber marking stamped with inspector's initial "B". S#s on frame, barrel, trigger guard, and backstrap match. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt archived properties letter confirming configuration letter further states "Shipped To: Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Mfg. Company / London Agency / Address: London, England / Date of Shipment: March 17, 1879 / Date of Manufacture: Unavailable / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 20". Also included is period English wood casing with green felt fitted interior and wood cartridge block. Inside of lid has paper label marked "Colts Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co. / 14, Pall Mall, S. W. / London". Accessories consist of a nickel finished brass oil bottle, screw driver and iron cleaning rod. Case exterior shows wear in handling marks and spots of grime and staining. Green in cloth interior shows considerable wear with small tears. Oil bottle retains 50% nickel, screwdriver and cleaning rod show spots of pitting. CONDITION: frames, grip straps, hammer, and trigger retain over 95% nickel finish, showing light scratches and marks. Barrel and ejector housing retain 60% nickel finish with areas of peeling, and turning gray, with small spots of white pitting. Cylinder retains 10% nickel with balance faded to gray showing some very light pitting. Grips retain some original finish with areas of wear and deep dents. Crisp mechanics. Bore has slightly darkened appearance with areas of light pitting and retains sound rifling. (01-20267/DS). ANTIQUE. $15,000-20,000.
