FINE PAIR OF RARE “NEW CALEDONIA” MADE WW2

FIGHTING KNIVES. These Pacific theater made knives are all unique in grip size & shape but all are double edged dagger point blades which are well made & quite sturdy for their intended purpose. All have heavy brass lozenge shaped cross guards.
1) 11.25" Overall, 7" blade, 1.05" wide. 2.5" guard hand engraved “Noumea” & “New Caledonia”. Curved flat stag grip attached w/ 2 iron pins. Very good overall w/ accompanying black leather sheath. Unattached accessory: hand drawn card by Roger Ballard. (02-15716/JS).
2) 12" Overall, 7" blade, 1.35" wide, 2.5" heavy brass ovoid cross guard hand engraved “Noumea” & “New Caledonia”. Well fit curved & tapered flat stag grip attached w/ 2 iron pins. Accompanied by brown leather sheath. Very good overall. Unattached accessory: hand drawn card by Roger Ballard. PROVENANCE: Roger Ballard collection. (02-15717/JS). $600-900.
