FINNISH M91 BOLT ACTION INFANTRY RIFLE REWORKED

FROM RUSSIAN MODEL 1891 MOSIN NAGANT.
Cal. 7.62x54R. S# 148574. S# matches on bbl., bolt & buttplate. Floorplate is partly legible #7. Bbl. 31 1/2". No visible import mark. These rifles used after Finland's break from Russia & were given improvements & Finnish acceptance marks but were not rebuilt extensively. Straight bull handle, "hex" receiver marked on top flat w/ imperial eagle. Bbl. is marked over chamber w/ imperial eagle & pre 1913 Tula Arsenal lettering; dated 1897. Mark on left side w/ boxed "SA", Finnish property mark. Ladder rear sight graduated to 3200 Arshins. Sides of sight base have been re calibrated in Finnish service. Tall stepped Finnish blade type front sight. Cleaning rod is present. Clamping type bbl. bands. Sling slots have Finnish type stirrups. Hardwood stock & handguard. Right side of buttstock has added brass marking disk numbered 53. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, dents, scratches & staining due to long difficult service. Hand guard has cracks on top rear approx. 1" & 8" respectively. Metal has traces of original blue turning gray w/ wear & handling marks. Good bore w/ lightly worn lands.
