'Second Variation WaA140" German military striker fired semi-automatic service pistol chambered in 7.65mm, produced in occupied Belgium circa 1940-1944. Features a blued finish, 4.4" barrel, low-profile round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with 'v' notch, rounded trigger, manual safety/slide catch on the left side of the frame, grip safety, heel magazine release, factory 9 round magazine, steel frame and two-piece checkered walnut grips. All observed serial numbers are matching. Other markings: Slide - "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE", "BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE," "(H)," [eagle/swastika], & [eagle]/"WaA140" stamped twice. Frame - [eagle/swastika] & [eagle]/"WaA140," Barrel - [eagle/swastika] & [eagle]'WaA140" stamped twice. Magazine - [FN monogram]/"7.65MM" and a faint [eagle]/"WaA140". Pistol exhibits approximately 75% of it's original blued finish showing holster wear and thinning with a browning patina making up the balance. Action is smooth, the bore is very good and the wood grips are good+ with semi-worn points. Condition is NRA Good. ***C&R Firearm***
