Cal. 32 RF. S# 5780. Bbl. 24" matching numbered oct. having brass blade in base front sight plus deep V rear having insert that can be raised w/ thumbnail for elevation adjustment. Mfg. 1863 or 1864 to about 1875 or 1876 as second type having rounded iron frame w/ integral forend; total production 1859-1888 of all models was about 35,000 units. Second type only made as Sporter Model; approx. 5,000 units in all Wesson RF calibers. Left side of frame has link to limit bbl. opening & circular side plate matching frame profile; right side has bbl. mounted manual ejector. Decorative cast trigger guard & corresponding crescent shaped buttplate; toe line is distinctively flat (common to Sporter models). Matching numbers on frame, bbl., & trigger guard. Appears all originally blued except for plated buttplate. CONDITION: good overall appearance w/ patina throughout. Receiver, hammer & trigger guard w/ out finish; no traces of plating or case colors inside. Buttplate w/ traces of plating; mostly patina. Good buttstock w/ original appearing finish having handling marks & 2 factory filled knot holes. Fair worn & cleaned evenly pitted bore w/ slightly dark appearance; distinct rifling. (01-22676/NW).
