BARRELS. ALSO 30-06 DOUBLE RIFLE BARRELS WITH CASE. Cals. 28 Ga., 2 3/4" / 410, 3" / 30-06. S# 20167. This interesting sm. bore combo was made in 1975 & has three 26 1/4" bbl. sets. The shotgun bbls. are Demi-Block & fitted w/ raised matted ventilated ribs engraved w/ "FRANZ SODIA. FERLACH" on tops. Bbls. stamped w/ 1975 Ferlach nitro proofs. Double rifle bbls. fitted w/ solid rib. Central area cut away forming quarter rib & front sight ramp. Rear portion holds 1 standing U notch rear sight & a gold bead front is dovetailed in. These bbls. are also marked w/ makers name & address on top. All bbl. sets have 3 piece forend tops. One forend services all 3 bbl. sets. Coin finished dbl. Kirsten O/U sidelock action has long top strap which extends over comb & fitted w/ non automatic safety. Action also features bushed strikers, raised arrow tumbler end cocking indicators & dbl. triggers. Hand detachable locks w/ takedown tab in right lockplate & dbl. triggers (front set). Action engraved w/ near full coverage, well cut shaded scroll w/ in scroll & feather borders. Makers name & address are on bottom which is also engraved w/ a duck rising from a marsh. Sideplates engraved w/ game scenes. A pointer & setter are pointing a trio of pheasant in open woodlands on left lock. Right lock depicts a roaring stag & 2 hinds in highlands. Trigger guard is of horn & extends to coin finished steel grip cap. Well streaked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/4" over ribbed horn buttplate. Stock features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, closely spaced point pattern checkering & vacant oval on toeline. Bottom portion of 3 piece forend has Deeley release. 28 GAUGE MEASUREMENTS: diameter: bottom .550(IC), top .551(IC). Restrictions: bottom .002, top .004. Minimum wall thickness: bottom .030, top .031. STOCK: DAH: 2 1/4". DAC: 1 7/16". WEIGHT: 6 lbs., 13 oz. 410 MEASUREMENTS: bore diameter: bottom .380, top .380 (muzzles counter bored to a depth of approx 2 3/4"). Minimum wall thickness: bottom .070, top .075 (non bored area). Weight w/ dbl. rifle bbls: 8 lbs., 4 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: rifle is housed in high quality brown oak & leather case w/ brass corners. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth & has Franz Sodia paper label in lid. Case contains a square oil bottle, a pair of Galazan 410 snap caps & the key. CONDITION: fine. All bbl. sets retaining approx. 90% of their original blue w/ some slight silvering on edges. Action retains nearly all of its original French gray finish. Slightly darkened from oil & age. Stocks retain approx. 90% of their original oil finish w/ a fair number of light marks, dings & scratches especially on forend. There is added oil on buttstock. All bores are fine. Action is tight. Mechanically good. Front trigger does set.. It appears that ejector internals have been removed from forend. Case is very fine; near new w/ minor scuffs & interior compressions. (21-3928/MGM).
