'Jungle Carbine' WWII era British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured at the Royal Ordnance Factory in Fazakerley, Liverpool circa 1944. Imported by CAI of St. Albans, VT with import marks on the right side of the barrel. Features a black painted finish, 20.5" barrel, pinned front sight base with protective sight ears, cone style flash suppressor & bayonet lug, dovetailed patridge front sight, receiver mounted folding aperture sight graduated to 800 meters, smooth trigger, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, 10 round detachable magazine, sling points, hollowed bolt handle, 'lightening cuts' on the receiver & barrel, steel buttplate with rubber recoil pad, and three-piece smooth wood stocks. Matching serial numbers are found on the receiver, bolt handle and forend. The left side of the receiver is marked "No5MK1ROF (F)/11/44 D5021” and the left side of the butt socket is stamped “D5021”. Rifle retains approximately 10% of its black painted finish with the balance of the metal surfaces displaying a brown patina with some light scattered surface rust. The left side of the front sight protector is damaged showing a break on the rear of the loop. Action is smooth, the bore is fair, the markings are faint but legible and the wood stocks are fair with blemished, losses & large chip along the top of the wrist.
