Fine original cased 1851 London Navy Percussion revolver in .36 caliber, S/N 36226. This stunning Colt shows deluxe checkered select wood grips which are a scarce option available on London arms. This navy retains 95%+ bright and “Inky” original blue on the barrel with minor loss and aging. The cylinder shows a strong 80%-90% original blue with all its original scene and clear engagement dates at front edge. The frame, lever and hammer show 85%-95% rainbow colored case hardening. The back strap and trigger guard show 50%-70% thinning blue at gripping areas. The grips are fine with minor “Bumps”. The blonde oak original case is also fine with full original trade label and lined with green velveteen. The lining is very good plus to fine with minor impressions, slight imperfections and small losses. The “Colt’s Navy Flask” by James Dixon retains 90%-95% lacquer with bright blue on the spring. The mold is unused with most mottled blue and some surface erosion, excellent blued nipple wrench, correct rod, compartment cover, key, unopened navy skins and Dixon marked capper also included. A strong 9-9.5 on a 1-10 scale that would be difficult to upgrade as the pistol shows almost “No use”. Gary Wiemann collection. (Antique) Est.: $9,000-$18,000
