First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #341266, .32 W.C.F. (.32-20) cal., 4.75" round barrel with right ejector rod marked "32 W.C.F." at left, maker's name and Hartford address in two lines at top; fluted round cylinder is marked "8" on front face and "66" on rear; solid frame is marked with the 2-line 1871-72-75 patent dates and "Rampant Colt" logo at left, has right-side loading gate batch-marked "292", 2-pc. steel grip straps, 2-pc. checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in relief ovals at top. Mfg'd 1921. Condition is very good retaining much of an overall later blue-brown finish over cleaned light oxidation; straps have strong traces of what may be original blue. Very good edges and markings. Grips show moderate wear with a tiny chip at left toe and fit well. Frame markings may be deeply re-stamped, cylinder retains most blue in flutes, straps are unnumbered (left-front trigger guard bow is marked "1" over triangular "VP" proof), hammer sides are polished. Action is crisp, bore is bright having light roughness at breech and good rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (C&R/PPT)
