WITH BAYONET. Cal. 79. NSN. Bbl. 42 1/8", has remnants of London (?) proofs on breech end. Lock w/ slightly arched round bodied plate has integral pan, bridled frizzen & feather spring w/ foliate finial; has remnants of crowned "GR" & crowned "V" proof in front of serpentine cock & "PARKES" along w/ rack number "19" on tail (19 is also on wrist escutcheon). Typical trigger guard is of relief brass. Sideplate is flat. Stock extends to 4" of muzzle & is pinned to bbl. Steel ramrod w/ button head is a bit short & mounts through to later style beaded brass pipes. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: triangular bayonet w/ 17" blade marked w/ crown over "19" & "TB" on root of blade. Socket is unmarked. CONDITION: iron parts cleaned to mottled gray over considerable scattered pitting. Lock is in original flint configuration. Touch hole appears to have been bushed. Wood possibly replaced, is sound w/ few observed restorations. Stock has been cleaned, edges somewhat rounded. Sling loops are missing. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti.
