RETAILED BY ABERCROMBIE & FITCH MOST LIKELY MADE BY A. FRANCOTTE. Cal. 20 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 18919. The 26" demi-bloc bbls. are fitted with matted narrow game rib & are engraved "Abercrombie & Fitch Co. New York" on top bbl. left side of rib. Bbl. is stamped with 1950 Belgian nitro proofs for 20 Ga. 2 3/4" & maker's mark a crowned "AF" (most likely Auguste Francotte). Bottom bbl. is engraved "Acer Cockeill" (steel type). Casehardened boxlock action with underbolts & dbl. Kersten type top bolt, features nonautomatic safety & single nonselective trigger. Action is engraved with about 40% coverage sprays of simple scroll. Trigger plate is engraved "MADE IN BELGIUM". Blued trigger guard w/ scroll on bow, has serial number on tang. Straight grip buttstock of lightly figured European walnut measures 13 3/4" over ribbed horn buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip & a vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching full beavertail ejector 1 piece forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: B: .620", T: .617". Restrictions: B: .006" (IC), T: .012" (MOD). Minimum Wall Thickness: B: .030", T: .032". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/2-". DAC: 1 9/16+". CAST: neutral. LOP: 13 3/4". WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 7 oz. CONDITION: Very Good, bbls. retaining 60-70% original blue with a good scattering of marks; silvering at muzzles and thinning overall. Action retains about 70% casehardening color which was never vivid. Top lever & floorplate retain about 80% original blue. Trigger guard retains about 40% blue considerably silvered at grip. Stocks retain most of what appears their original oil finish with added oil over a fair scattering of light marks & scratches. Checkering considerably worn & dirty. There is a repair at right rear of forend measuring about 1" by 1/2". Bores are bright & shiny with no major problems. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Trigger appears to work well.
