WITH CASE. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 1/2" X 16 Ga., 2 1/2" X 8 X 57 JR (.318 Bore Diameter). S# 922 (on bbls.). Bbl. 23 1/2" set is fitted w/ fully matted rib holding pop up rear sight, silver bead front & claw scope bases. Tops of bbls. engraved "Aug. Jung" "Viernau i/THUR". "Krupp Prima Steel", star logos are also present. Bottoms of bbls. stamped w/ July 1937 nitro proofs for 16 ga. & 7.8/57 rifle cartridge. French gray scallop backed blitz action features greener type side safety, rifle selector on top tang, pin type cocking indicators, cross bolt 3rd fastener, side clips & sm. reinforcing bolsters along w/ dbl. triggers (front set). Action engraved w/ scattered scroll w/ line & geometric borders surrounding game scenes on sides. A stag & hind are at rear of left side w/ a duck at front, right side depicts a roebuck & doe at rear & pheasant at front. Fences are relief carved w/ acanthus leaves. Blued trigger guard has scroll on bow. Replacement pistol grip buttstock of relatively plain American walnut measures 14 1/8" over ribbed hard rubber buttplate & features sm. shadowline right hand cheekpiece, hard rubber grip cap & point pattern checkering. Original matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS.: bore diameter: R .664, L .664. Restriction: R .027 (FULL), L .029 (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .026, L .030. STOCK: LOP: 14 1/8". DAC: 1 1/2". DAH: 3". Cast: 1/4" off. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 13 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: ovate cylindrical dark leather case by Abercrombie & Fitch, embossed w/ gold initials "A.T.H.". CONDITION: good as partially refurbished "as found". Bbls. retaining most of what appears to be original blue, action w/ most original French gray, both covered in a coat of grime. Replacement buttstock is fairly well done & retains nearly all of its original finish w/ a 2" crack in left side panel behind center of action. Checkering on buttstock very lightly worn. Forend refinished, checkering worn. Shotgun bores are shiny. Rifle bore also shiny w/ a hint of softness to rifling at breech end & a few scattered minor pits. Action is tight, set trigger works. Case condition is good, showing maintenance w/ saddle soap, handle & carrying strap intact, both end caps detached at hinges, needs restitching. (20-4370/MGM). CURIO. $800-1,200.
