Cal. 16 Ga., 2 3/4" / 7x57 R. S# 952449. The 23 5/8" bbls. are fitted w/ claw scope bases, pop-up U-notch rear & silver bead front sights in full length matted rib. Tops of bbls. are stamped w/ steel type & “FORTUNA-SUHL”. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ July 1967 East German Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers & 7x57 R rifle cartridge. Right bbl. is currently fitted w/ a 22 long sub caliber insert. French gray scallop backed blitz action w/ rifle selector on top tang & Greener type side safety also features pin-type cocking indicators, crossbolt 3rd fastener, sideclips, reinforced frame & dbl. triggers (front set). Action has rolled on scroll engraving & punched in scroll & geometric borders. Suhl blacksmith logo is on triggerplate. Trigger guard is steel. Relatively plain European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 5/8" over thin red rifle pad. Stock features slight hogback to comb, shadowline right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering, hard rubber gripcap & sling loop. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Drilling is mounted w/ Dolimit 6x scope w/ 3 post reticle in soldered on claw mounts, rear w/ windage. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .664", L .665". Restriction: R .013” (LIGHT MOD), L .023" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .035", L .030". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/4-". DA REAR OF HOGBACK: 2". DAC: 1 5/8". LOP: 14 5/8". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT WITHOUT SCOPE, W/ BBL. INSERT: 7 lb. 11 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: very good to fine, bbls. retaining about 60-70% original blue w/ considerable wear above forend & thinning overall. Action retains most of its coin finish but shows some cleaning. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish w/ numerous marks. Checkering somewhat worn, especially on forend where it is worn smooth in some places. Pad is relatively new. Shotgun bores are bright & shiny. Rifle bore is shiny w/ some light frosting at breech end. Action is tight. Mechanically good. Scope shows a fair amount of wear on exterior blue, scratches on ocular bell. Optically clear. (22-4998/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
