Cal. 16 ga. 2 1/2". S# 36089. The 28 1/4" dovetailed bbls. are engraved "Christoph Funk in Suhl" on slightly raised matted game rib. Bbl. flats are stamped with 1925 German Nitro proofs for 16 ga. Coin finished scallop backed boxlock action features automatic safety, pin type cocking indicators, crossbolt third fastener, sideclips and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with near full coverage Germanic acanthus scroll with some floral highlights surrounding game scenes. A calling auerhahn and two hens are on left side of action and a surprised fox and two hares are on right. Sunburst horn capped pistol grip buttstock of lightly figured European walnut measures 14 1/8" over "Decelerator" sporting clays pad. Stock features small right hand cheekpiece and point pattern checkering on grip. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .662", L .662". Restriction: R .010" (IC), L .012" (LIGHT MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .030", L .034". STOCK: DAH: 2 9/16". DAC: 1 7/16". LOP: 14 1/8". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 2 oz. CONDITION: good as partially refinished. Bbls. with most of an old reblack. Action has coin finish cleaned up, engraving remains sharp and clear. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish with some added oil on butt with addition of newer pad. Checkering shows considerable wear, especially on left side of forend where it is worn smooth. Bores are bright and shiny, forcing cones have been lengthened. Action is tight. Top lever must be held to the right for bbls. to close. (22-5270/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
