GRANET OF DIEPPE. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 1/2". S# 12455 (bottoms of bbls). The 27 3/16" dovetailed bbls. w/ narrow tapering matted game rib are unmarked on tops or sides. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ French Nitro proofs, “DIDIER – DREVET” & “GRAND PRIX 1900”. Bottoms of bbls. are stamped w/ “ST. ETIENNE” & other various proofs & marks. Case hardened dbl. ogee backed boxlock action features nonautomatic safety, hidden third fastener & dbl. triggers. Nicely veined & figured European walnut buttstock w/ long rnd. knob pistol grip measures 14 1/8" over hand skipline checkered horn buttplate. Sidepanels have nicely formed drop points, and well done point pattern checkering at grip has shell pattern carving around ball of grip. A vacant silver oval is on top rear of comb. Matching splinter ejector forend is Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .734", L .731". Restriction: R .005" (IC), L .040" (EXTRA FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .024", L .026". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 3/4-". LOP: 14 1/8". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 8 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: fine as refinished, bbls. retaining over 80% of a reblack over some light pitting w/ some subsequent silvering & marks. Action retains about 70% newer case hardening color. Engraving is softened. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original finish but what is most likely a well done refinish w/ many subsequent marks, some quite deep, on left side of butt. Checkering is very lightly worn, does not appear to have been recut. Bores are bright & shiny w/ evidence of dent removal in bottom of left bbl. about 15" behind muzzle. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. (22-5017/MGM). CURIO. $600-1,200.
