Cal. 16 Ga. 2 1/2" / 16 2 1/2" / 9.3 X 72 R. S# 525. The 26 7/8" bbl. set is fitted with pop up U notch rear and gold bead front sights in full length flat matted rib with doll's head extension. Bbl. flats are stamped with German Imperial nitro proofs for 16 Ga. and 9.3 X 72 rifle cartridge with proof date of 5/24. A sling loop is soldered to bottom bbl. Round body trigger plate, underlever action features rifle/shotgun selector on top tang, Greener type side safety, pin type cocking indicators, reinforced action, and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with typical Germanic scrolling shaded acanthus which surrounds game scenes on sides; a bugleing stag on left, and running roebuck and doe on right. Trigger guard is steel. Round knob pistol grip buttstock of relatively plain European walnut measures 14"over ribbed horn buttplate. Stock features shadowline right hand cheekpiece, nicely fluted comb and point pattern checkering at grip. The initials "GH" are crudely cut into left side of stock at butt. Matching Schnabeled splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .673", L: .673". Restrictions: R: .035" (FULL), L: .031" (FULL). Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .032", L: .038". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 1/2". CAST: approx. 1/4" off. LOP: 14". WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 1 oz. CONDITION: very good to fine. Bbls. retaining approx. 60% original blue with wear above forend from normal handling. Action retains as much as 40-50% casehardening color. Stocks retain most of their oil finish with a considerable number of marks both light and heavy. Bores are bright and shiny including rifle bore which is exceptionally fine. There is evidence of overzealous dent removal with slight bulge in left bbl. 10 1/2" behind muzzle. Action is tight. Mechanically good. (22-956/MGM). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
