GROUP OF 7 JAPANESE TYPE 30 BAYONETS.
1) Manufactured at the Nagoya arsenal. Nagoya arsenal insignia on right side of ricasso and number "34559" on bottom of the pommel. Blued blade with hooked quillon, contoured birds head pommel, and steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains much of its blued finish, with wear showing through to gray patina overall. Grip shows scattered handling marks, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Gray patina on the quillon, pommel, and scabbard. 2) Manufactured at the Koishikawa/Kokura arsenal. Right side of ricasso bears the Koishikawa/Kokura arsenal insignia, with number "1888147" on the bottom of the pommel. Blued blade with hooked quillon, contoured birds head pommel, and matte black finished scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains much of its blued finish, exhibiting mild wear with some scattered losses from cleaned oxidation. Quillon and pommel exhibit a gray patina, with some scattered surface oxidation and pitting. Grip shows scattered handling marks, but remains sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows flaking and wear to its matte black painted finish overall. 3) Manufactured at the Koishikawa/Kokura arsenal. Right side of ricasso bears the Koishikawa/Kokura arsenal insignia, with the number "2106044" on the bottom of the pommel. In-the-white blade with blued hooked quillon, contoured birds head pommel, and scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits mild to moderate spots of pitting overall, but otherwise presents nicely. Quillon, grip, and pommel retain good amounts of their blued finish, with mild wear overall. Grips show some scattered handling marks, but are otherwise very good. Scabbard shows wear and thinning overall through to gray patina. 4) Manufactured at the Jinsen arsenal in Korea. Right side of ricasso bears the Jinsen arsenal insignia, with number "85916" on the bottom of the pommel. Blued blade, with hooked quillon, straight side birds head pommel, and scabbard. CONDITION: very good overall, with the blade retaining much of its original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting modest wear on the sides from the scabbard. Grips show some scattered handling marks, but are otherwise very good. Scabbard shows mild surface oxidation overall. 5) Manufactured at the Jinsen arsenal in Korea. Jinsen arsenal on right side of ricasso, with number "96452" on bottom of pommel. Blued blade, with hooked quillon, straight side birds head pommel, and scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibit oxidation and pitting, with some nicks and minor losses to the blade edge towards the tip. Quillon and pommel exhibit wear and scattered spots of surface oxidation. Scabbard exhibits surface oxidation overall. 6) Manufactured at the Mukden arsenal in China. Mukden arsenal insignia on right side of ricasso, with number "5390" on bottom of pommel. Blued blade, with straight quillon, contoured birds head pommel, and scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains traces o its original blue finish, exhibiting a gray patina with scattered pitting, discoloration, and some spots of surface oxidation. Quillon and pommel exhibit a gray pitted surface. Grip shows a loss on the right with some scattered handling marks, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard exhibits wear and thinning overall. 7) Manufactured at the Mukden arsenal. Right side of ricasso bears the Mukden arsenal insignia, with a partially discernible number "623X" (last digit is not legible) on the bottom of the pommel. Blued blade with straight quillon, contoured birds head pommel, and scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains much of its original blued finish, exhibiting areas of wear that show through to gray patina, with scattered spots of pitting that are mostly concentrated at the blades tip. Blade edge shows a few nicks and dings. Grips are very good overall. Scabbard show some scattered areas of wear, but otherwise presents nicely. PROVANANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E.
