& BAROMETER. 1) Machete mfg. by Collins & Co. Left side of blade is lightly marked with the Collin's logo above "LEGITIMUS/ COLLINS & CO/ GUATAMALA, with the right side retaining a black sticker label that is in Spanish. Brown leather scabbard is dated 1942. CONDITION: blade exhibits areas of dark discoloration and scattered spots of surface oxidation. Handle shows some handling marks. Scabbard remains malleable, exhibiting areas of discoloration and age related cracking and crazing. 2) British World War II issued machete mfg. by G. Adams. Left side of blade is marked "G.ADAMS" followed by a broad head arrow proof above "1945", as well as "A.F. 0100. Non-original green canvas scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits a dark gray patina, with areas of oxidation, dark discoloration, and some corrosion overall. Blade faces exhibits several chips. Grips exhibit cracks, but otherwise appear to remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some staining, but is otherwise serviceable. 3) British World War II issued machete mfg. by Martindale. The left side of the blade exhibits an alligator logo followed by "MARTINDALE", a faint date stamp, and an indiscernible stamp. Right side faintly marked "MADE ENGLAND". Green canvas scabbard dated 1945. CONDITION: blade exhibits a dark patina overall with some spots of oxidation. Blade face exhibits several chips. Grips exhibit scattered handling marks, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some staining, but is otherwise very good. 4) No. 1005 machete mfg. by Collins & Co. Left side of blade is marked "COLLINS & CO/ HARTFORD/ No 1005". Heavy curved blade with 2 piece horn grips. Embossed brown leather scabbard with brass fittings and drainage hole at tip. CONDITION: blade exhibits areas of surface oxidation and dark discoloration. Blade face shows several small nicks. Grips show scattered marks from handling and storage, with some hairline cracks. Scabbard exhibits wear and scattered marks from handling and storage. Brass fittings exhibit a dark brown patina. Base of ferrule has come loose, but is present. 5) USMC bolo machete mfg. by Chatillon. Left side of blade is marked USMC/ CHATILLON, N.Y.". Bottom grip rivet is no longer present. Brown leather scabbard marked "USMC/ BOYT/ 44". CONDITION: blade exhibits a pitted surface and retains a gray patina overall. Blade face shows a few nicks. Grips are very good overall. Scabbard wear and some scattered handling marks, with some areas of crazing. 6) Model 1898/05 bayonet marked "W EVERSBERG/ KIRSCHBAUM/ & CIE/ SOLINGEL" on the left ricasso. Base of spine exhibits a Crown/W proof above "17". Metal scabbard with brown leather frog. CONDITION: blade retains its bright finish, exhibiting some spots of discoloration, a couple small spots of pitting, and a few nicks to the blade face. Guard and pommel exhibit pitting and oxidation. Right grip panel is cracked. Scabbard retains a mottled dark gray patina and exhibits several dents. Frog exhibits crazing overall. 7) 2 US folding shovels with canvas sleeves. 1 mfg. by GRADEX in 1965 and the other by Ames in 1968. 1 with a GEN CUT mfg. M7 bayonet and M8A1 scabbard. CONDITION: good with flaking and wear to the paint of bot the metal and wooden surfaces. Sleeves exhibit some wear, but remain sturdy and serviceable. Bayonet shows some thinning and wear, but is otherwise very good. 8) US military issued hatchet with canvas sleeve. Head is stamped "U.S.". Green painted finish. CONDITION: good, with mild wear. Handle exhibits several losses. 9) US military issued pickaxe with canvas sleeve. CONDITION: pickaxe head exhibits oxidation overall. Handle shows some wear and exhibits some losses at the top. 10) US Navy barometer mfg. by Taylor Instrument Companies. Brass body. Rear is marked "BU. SHIPS (ENCIRCLED N) 1715 1941". CONDITION: body exhibits a pleasing mellow patina overall. Face exhibits some spots of light oxidation, but otherwise is good. 11) US artillery slide ruler for use with the 15mm howitzer and High Explosive M107 ammunition. With green canvas transit case. CONDITION: good, with some minor handling marks and age related discoloration. Canvas case is very good overall. (02-20946/MLW). $700-1,000.
