1) 16 x 27" Oval portrait identified to Orin Wright, 1st Vermont heavy artillery. CONDITION: good overall & original beveled glass, gessoed frame. 2) $50 Confederate bond, lithograph by Duncan, Richmond Virginia. CONDITION: good overall. 3) $500 Confederate bond, remainder vignette of soldier by campfire, printed by Archer & Daly, Richmond Virginia. CONDITION: good overall, paper yellowed. 4) State of Maine printed posthumous memorial of war service, facsimile signature of Gov. Joshua Chamberlain American bank note company w/ vignettes of Chamberlain, Farragut, & Grant. Given to Ebenezer C. Talcott, 4th Maine Light Artillery who died in 1863. CONDITION: fair to good, yellowed. 5) Rare escutcheon to Company A, Maine Coast Guard, mustered into service March 18, 1864, lists soldiers & officers w/ patriotic vignettes on edges, about 21 x 17". CONDITION: paper yellowed, Fox w/ acid burn. 6) Illinois Civil War appointment to captain, Amos W. Hostetter, Co. I. 34th ILL Volunteer Infantry. CONDITION: appears very good, frame, 11 x 17". 7) Commonwealth of Massachusetts Memorial for service given to William G Fay, company E, 53rd Massachusetts infantry. About 18 x 15". CONDITION: paper yellowed in frame. 8) May 31, 1864 document assigning Civil War Chief Paymaster William Allen an extra clerk, probably his son Robert Allen. CONDITION: fair w/ tape stains on folds, text discernible.16 x 10.5". 9) 10th New York Cavalry pay document, Maj. John Kemper, November 11, 1862. CONDITION: fair w/ tape stains & yellowing. 10) Sentimental engraving “Home on a Furlough”, published 1864, showing loving family welcoming soldier home. 18 x 12". CONDITION: appears good w/ foxing. 11) Sentimental Civil War engraving, published 1865 “How We Won the Battle”. The Sgt. is sitting in parlor telling children, wife & parents his story w/ George Washington framed on the wall & his sword & slouch hat hanging behind him. 18 x 12".
