WITH WWI ERA MANUFACTURE DATES. 1) 16" fullered parkerized blade. Blade is marked on left ricasso "R.I.A." flaming bomb "1919". Right ricasso marked "US" plus S#. Straight cross guard. Coarse turned walnut grips. Birds head pommel. Khaki colored canvas covered scabbard w/ leather tip. Scabbard has partially legible inked marking on back. 2) 15 3/4" parkerized fullered blade marked on left ricasso "SA" flaming bomb "1918". Right ricasso has "US" eagle head acceptance mark & S#. Straight cross guard. Coarse turned walnut grips. Birds head pommel. Khaki colored canvas covered scabbard w/ leather tip. Scabbard is unmarked. 3) 15 7/8" fullered parkerized blade w/ 2 toned appearance at ricasso. Left ricasso marked "SA" flaming bomb "1919". Right ricasso "US" & S#. Straight cross guard. Coarse turned walnut grips. Birds head pommel. Khaki colored canvas covered scabbard w/ brown leather tip. Marked on back w/ ink "78". 4) 15 7/8" fullered parkerized blade. Marked on left ricasso "RIA" flaming bomb "1917". Marked on right ricasso "US" & S#. Straight cross guard. Coarse turned walnut grips. Birds head pommel. Scabbard has replacement green shaded canvas cover & brown leather tip. Belt hook appears to be a field replacement. Stitching is not arsenal quality. 5) 15 7/8" fullered parkerized blade. Parkerizing is over extensive sharpening. Left ricasso marked "R.I.A." flaming bomb "1918". Right ricasso "US" plus S#. Striaght cross guard. Heavily worn, cracked, chipped walnut grip. Birds head pommel. Khaki colored canvas covered scabbard w/ leather tip marked "33" on both sides in ink. CONDITION: ranges from good to very good except as noted . May have light wear, scuffing staining & light oxidation. PROVENANCE: from the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18547/RW). $600-800.
