HELMETS. 1) Soviet SSh-39 helmet. Green painted finish with wool and leather liner. Liner is faintly marked with what appears to be a partially discernible name "ELINIK". Left side of leather chinstrap has torn and is no longer present. CONDITION: good, with flaking overall and some discoloration in worn areas. 2) Soviet SSh-40 helmet mfg. at the Red October Factory in 1952 as indicated by the "3KO" and "52r" ink stamps on the interior. Green painted finish with leather liner. CONDITION: good, retaining large amounts of its green painted finish, exhibiting some areas of oxidation. 3) British Mk IV helmet. Green painted finish with leather "LIFT THE DOT" liner. Khaki web chinstrap. CONDITION: good, retaining the majority of its painted finish, exhibiting some wear and flaking, most notably at rim. 4) Unmarked Adrian pattern helmet exhibiting a a brown painted finish, with wear that shows through to a gray finish. Chinstrap is not present. CONDITION: helmet shows wear, flaking, and some areas of oxidation overall. Liner is in poor condition. 5) Unusual wood Adrian pattern helme. Gray painted finish with red star painted on front. White leather liner with chinstrap. CONDITION: exterior exhibits areas of cracking, flaking, and wear to the painted finish, most notably along the rim. Liner exhibits a hole at the rear, but otherwise appears to remain sturdy and serviceable. 6) M30 helmet believed to have been produced in Czechoslovakia and issued to Republican forces during the Spanish Civil War. Green painted exterior with leather liner and chinstrap. "Stahlhelm" pattern ventilation lugs+. CONDITION: painted exterior exhibits flaking overall, with 1 rivet no longer being present on the front of the helmet. 7) Imperial Japanese Type 90 helmet. Helmet has been repainted and fitted with a brass anchor naval insignia. Liner and chinstrap are not present. CONDITION: helmet retains the vast majority of its reapplied painted finish, with some wear and some areas of pitting present beneath the paint. Insignia is loose. 8) Swedish M/26 helmet. Green painted exterior with leather liner and chinstrap. CONDITION: helmet exhibits flaking overall, with flaked areas exhibiting areas of oxidation. (02-21062/MLW). $400-700.
