GROUPING OF EARLY BAYONETS FROM FRANCE &

ARGENTINA.
1) FRENCH MODEL 1874-GRAS. 20 1/2" T-BACK blade. Blade marked on top in script "Mre d' Armes De St Etienne Avril 1879". Curved quillon marked w/ S#. Smooth walnut grips, brass pommel, blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has light oxidation & staining throughout. Quillon has turned overall patina; Pommel has pleasing dark patina. Scabbard retains lg. degree of original blue w/ light oxidation & fine pitting.
2) FRENCH MODEL 1886/93/16. 20 1/2" Spike blade. Blade marked w/ encircled: "J" & "A". Brass handle cross guard marked only w/ S#. Rnd. steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has generally good appearance w/ light scattered staining. Brass handle is pleasing mustard color w/ handling marks. Scabbard has 80% blue w/ thinning & light wear. Scabbard will not allow bayonet to fully seat.
3) ARGENTINE MODEL 1891. 15 5/8" Fullered blade. Crest has been removed from right ricasso leaving 1891 date; left ricasso marked "WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & CO SOLINGEN" curved quillon; silver colored grooved alloy handle. Pommel marked w/ "RA" in oval. Blued steel scabbard w/ matching S#. CONDITION: blade has wear, staining & light oxidation throughout. Area of crest removal has noticeable oxidized appearance. Handle has wear & handling marks. Blue steel scabbard retains most of original blue w/ light wear.
4) ARGENTINE MODEL 1891. 15 3/4" Fullered blade; marked on right ricasso "MODELO ARGENTINO 1891" Argentine crest. Left ricasso marked "WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & CO SOLINGEN"; grooved silver colored alloy handle; curved quillon. Steel scabbard.
CONDITION: blade has slightly dull stained appearance. Alloyed grips have light wear & handling marks. Scabbard has traces of original blue turning gray & patina w/ sm. dents & scratches throughout. Scabbard is slightly distorted & bayonet does not fully seek.
5) ARGENTINE MODEL 1891. 15 3/4" Fullered blade. Crest on right ricasso has been removed leaving 1891 date & S# which matches scabbard. Left ricasso marked "WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & CO SOLINGEN". Curved quillon, grooved brass handle, blue steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has light wear, scattered oxidation & staining. Handle has light wear turning patina. Steel scabbard has 60% blue w/ scattered dents & scratches. (02-16309-22/RW). $200-400.
