GROUPING OF MISCELLANEOUS MILITARIA ITEMS.
1) Polished aluminum parade helmet. Starburst with crowned cross on front. Decorative brass lion heads with chain embellishments. Leather liner and chinstrap are present. CONDITION: good, with exterior exhibiting mild age related tarnishing. Helmet exhibits a few dents and dings, but otherwise presents nicely. Chinstrap exhibits age related cracking and crazing overall. 2) French Adrian helmet. Spine is not present. Front of helmet exhibits crossed cannons behind a flaming ordnance "RF" bomb insignia. Helmet retains its period leather liner and chinstrap. Reapplied green painted finish. CONDITION: helmet retains the majority of its green painted finish, exhibiting some flaking overall. Liner exhibits some tearing. Chinstrap exhibits age related cracking and crazing, with a loss on the left side. 3) Antique naval bicorn hat and epaulettes with metal transit cases. Gold colored crowned anchor button fitted on front. Interior is marked "E&W. SEAGROVE/ OUTFITTERS/ FORTSEA. Nameplate on case is blank. Epaulettes with matching crowned anchor buttons. CONDITION: good, with interior of hat rim exhibiting some mild losses. Transit case shows flaking and some marks from storage and handling, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Epaulettes are good overall. Case exhibits some flaking and surface oxidation, but otherwise is sturdy and serviceable. 4) Spanish American War era M1895 kepi produced by M.C. Lilley & Co. Front of hat is embellished with a patriotic eagle. Black leather visor. Mfg. marked is embossed in silver on the interior. Rear portion of leather sweat band retains a "6 3/ 4" sticker. CONDITION: good overall, with the kepi remaining sturdy, Visor shows some scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling. 5) Wool Spanish military barracks cap. Green with red trim and tassel. Interior is faintly ink stamped. CONDITION: very good overall. 6) Vintage fireman's hat produced by Wentworth-Forman Co.. "F.D" cross pin on front. Black leather visor. Interior label reads "DIVISION OF KEYSTONE/ UNIFORM CAP/ WENTWORTH" above a crowned "CUSTOM-MADE/ HEAD MASTER". CONDITION: good, with some staining. Hat remains sturdy. 7) British World War II canteen. Blued painted finish with blue wool sleeve and canvas web harness/sling. CONDITION: good, with some losses to the paint and discoloration to the canvas harness. 8) Antique wood canteen. Body is lightly embellished, with traces of original decorative painted designs on the sides. Leather strap has torn at one time. CONDITION: canteen exhibits scattered marks from handling and storage, with general wear from use. Threaded cork has broken at one time and is missing a sizeable section on one side. Leather strap exhibits some tears and is fragile. (02-20945/MLW). $300-500.
