'Best Quality' single shot rifle built on Farquharson's patent, chambered for 219 Zipper Improved. Features blued finish, factory engraving, deluxe stock attributed to Tom Shellhammer, highly engraved trap door buttplate attributed to Hans Obiltschnig. Barrel is 26" long, tapered contour, band for sling swivel and two piece scope base. Action is fully engraved with dense pattern of fine scrolls, marked "GEORGE GIBBS / BRISTOL" on left, "FARQUHARSON'S PATENT 691" on left. Safety lever on receiver right has gold wire inlay "BOLTED" indication for 'safe' position. Two piece stock is highly figured walnut with significant striking vertical fiddle pattern running crosswise to grain, approx 14-1/8" length of pull. Forend has ebony tip, large checkered panel wraps across bottom with jigged edge border. Pistol grip stock has checkered panels at wrist, Monte Carlo cheek piece with shadow line, steel checkered grip cap, blued stud & swivel, and trap door buttplate featuring deep relief engraved rock chuck scene on silver color door, silver color screws with pattern engraving, blued plate with full coverage of fine scrolls. Trap door opens to reveal two cartridge storage holes. Bore is excellent condition; needs a normal cleaning. Retains 98% blue, with some bare metal at muzzle. Wood is in excellent condition, with few signs of handling, one small dent observed at rear of forend on left. Mounts a Leupold adjustable objective scope, model number and other details hidden by scope rings. Scope reticle is faint and appears damaged (Leupold does offer a lifetime guarantee).
