German 2-Barrel Over/Under Double Action Bar Pistol, #3097, 6.35mm, 2.5" superposed barrel group marked "Bar Pistol" on top, machined integral with the flat solid frame having a top pushbutton release for the chamber block, a folding trigger, alternating internal strikers, "knight in armor" logo at front, integral gripstraps with screw-out ejector rod in butt and checkered 2-pc. hard rubber grips. The flat chamber block holds 4 cartridges in a vertical column; marked with the "(crown)/(crown)/U" Suhl proof mark over "Deutschland 98382/Patent/Belgien 134215" on one side, and "England 11998/Russland/Nord Amerika" on the other. In use the top barrel is fired first, followed by the bottom; the block is then released by the frame-top pushbutton, rotated 180-degrees, and fired again. The inventor, Burchard C. von Behr, was granted a patent on March 4, 1898 for his design; these pistols may have been mfg'd at his Hamburg arms factory. Condition is near excellent retaining approx. 97% deep glossy blue having occasional light scratching. Grips show sharp checkering. Action is crisp, bores are bright having sharp rifling.
