German SS M-33 Service Dagger with Exclamation Point Motto, RZM M7/29 by Kittermann & Moog, Solingen, 8.75" double edged blade with low center ridge, acid etched "RZM/M 7/29" and with motto "Meine Ehre Heibt Treue!". Handle is made from blackened hardwood. Crossguard and pommel nut are nickel plated. The enameled roundel has two circles with white runes; eagle appears to be nickel and fits well to the wood. Scabbard fittings are plated and attract a magnet but the ring will not attract a magnet; screws appear to be original and not removed, but the upper screws show slight roughness in the slots. Steel scabbard body with black finish. Condition overall is good, and the dagger appears to be in original uncleaned condition. Blade shows scratches and scattered dark areas of patina, there is a small nick to the edge, and the point is excellent. Crossguards, pommel nut, and scabbard fittings all show the same matching dull appearance, with spots of toning and handling marks; pommel nut appears to be untouched with no marks from removal. Grip retains good color, with general moderate impressions and handling marks, and there is a slightly larger gap on the right side of both cross guards. Roundel and eagle both show wear and handling marks. Grip assembly fits tightly to the blade. The scabbard body shows considerable flaking and loss of finish, with some areas of light rust patina. Blade slides in and out of the scabbard smoothly. Est: $1,800-$2,400.
