Cal. 16 Ga., 2 3/4" x 16 Ga., 2 2/4" x 8x57R (360). S# 1958. Proofed in April 1941. Bbls. 23 3/4" w/ full length matted rib w/ dolls head extension holding pop up rear & silver bead front sights. Tops of bbls. engraved "Waffen " Frankonia" "Wurzburg". Bottoms of bbls. stamped w/ Nazi era proofs for 16 ga. 2 3/4" chambers & "8 x 57 R 360". (Similar to the 32-40 Winchester except for rim thickness). Round bodied under lever action fitted w/ peninsula back spring rebounding locks w/ short serpentine hammers. Top lever selects rifle bbl. & pops up rear sight. Action & locks have only line border engraving & no maker markings. Lightly figured European walnut composition capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13 3/8" over ribbed composition buttplate, features right hand cheekpiece & point pattern checkering at grip. An engraved cartridge trap from a much fancier Drilling or other rifle, has been let into toeline of stock. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Bore diameters: left - .676, right - .674. Bore restrictions: left - .037 (full), right - .037 (full). Minimum wall thickness: left - .022, right - .026. DAH: 2 7/16". DAC: 1 3/8". WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 6 oz. CONDITION: fine, as refinished. Metal parts retain most of an old reblack, wood has old oil refinish. Bores are very fine. Rifle bore is sharp & shiny. Action is tight. Set trigger inoperable & jams right lock. (20-325/MGM56).
