Cal. 12 Ga. 2 1/2". S# 145. The 29 1/2" dovetailed barrels are choked full & full & fitted with slightly raised matted rib engraved with retailer's name & address. Barrel flats are stamped with Imperial German nitro proofs. Round bodied underlever action with captive forend is fitted with non-rebounding back spring locks having round bodied serpentine hammers. Action & locks are engraved w/ 50% coverage large open scroll. Maker's name & address are around hammer pivots & lockplates are game scene engraved with pheasant on left & grouse on right. Front of opening lever has heavy relief gold inlay which appears to be of a rose & crown. Nicely fiddle figured European walnut, straight grip buttstock measures 14 1/2" over steel buttplate. Stock features point pattern checkering, sling loop & small silver oval engraved "1". Captive forend attaches to barrels with side bolt (missing). MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2 1/4". DAC: 1 5/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14 1/2". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 15 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black plastic case. CONDITION: fair to good, barrels, most likely old replacement, have consideralbe pitting under reblue which shows considerable wear. Action mostly cleaned to gray, has had hinge pin replaced. Stocks show considerable wear & traces of original finish, checkering considerably worn, almost smooth in places & on forend. Bores are good with scattered pitting. Action is tight, locks are good, barrel bolt missing. (22-5153/MGM). CURIO. $500-800.
