WITH EXTRA SET OF BARRELS. Cal. 20 Ga. S# FW47903. The 26" and 28" bbls. are both serial numbered to this gun. The 28" bbls. with long matted rib have L.C. Smith and Hunter Arms markings on tops, 26" bbls., most likely fitted at a later date, have high flat matted rib and no L.C. Smith markings. Bbl. flats on 28" bbls. have complete serial number, grade and no proofs. The 26" bbls. are stamped with five digit serial number and Hunter proofs. Casehardened, small featherweight action features non automatic safety and double triggers. "L.C. SMITH' is stamped on each lockplate. Capped pistol grip buttstock of plain American walnut measures 14" over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Matching splinter forend with "J" spring release services both bbl. sets. MEASUREMENTS: 28" BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .615", L: .615". Restrictions: R: .016" (MOD) , L: .025" (FULL). Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .032", L: .026". 26" BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .613", L: .613". CONDITION: fine to very fine. 28" original bbls. retaining over 90% original blue. Newer 26" bbls. retain over 95% original blue. Action and lockplates retain 80-90% casehardening color, silver on bottom and on fences and with some flecking and oxidation on bottom. Trigger guard retains over 90% original blue. Stocks retain over 90% of their original varnish with attic burn and crazing evident on butt. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically fine. A scarce little gun. (22-958/MGM). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
