COMMERCIAL, ANGEL GRIPS, FACTORY MATCHING STOCK.Cal. 7.63mm. S# 35903. This is one of the earliest Prewar Commercial pistols that was assembled w/ a long extractor. This example having a 5.5" bbl., w/ a fixed front sight sight & a slip-in rear sight graded 50-1000. Long extractor, dual lug firing pin & SR hammer. Top of chamber w/ usual Mauser address. Full S# on left chamber flat. Left side bbl. extension has Crown/"C" /"U" mark; antler proof on right side. Frame w/ 2-line Mauser address. Fitted w/ hard rubber molded grips depicting Angel using a C96 to shoot a rearing lion. Lanyard ring present. Major components rust blued. Most sm. parts fire blued; trigger strawed; bolt, hammer & sub frame in the white. Complete disassembly shows fully matching parts, each of the grips hand-inscribed w/ full S#. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: complete w/matching original stock w/ full S# on upper arm of lug. CONDITION: approx. 97-98% original rust blue, most of the loss reflected by fine scattered flecks of oxidation rather than wear. Pinpoint speckled losses over the extractor, cursor & bolt stop as imaged. Trigger w/ expected fading in areas of contact. Very bright bore w/ sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Stock VG-excellent having most original finish, scattered handling marks; near excellent lug; hinge w/considerable fading. A wonderful, early, Prewar Commercial, still with the long extractor, better yet w/ Angel grips & a factory matching stock. (22-3083/LMA). CURIO. $5,500-7,500.
