BOXLOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN BY SIMSON OF SUHL.
Cal 12 Ga. 2 3/4" S# 775769. This gun closely resembles the features of a Merkel model 122E & has 28" shoelump barrels fitted with slightly raised matted game rib. Steel type & makers name are stamped on breech ends which also have some scroll engraving. Barrel flats are stamped with Nov. 1981 East German nitro proofs. Coin finished sideplated boxlock action features automatic safely, cross bolt 3rd fastener, side clips, pin type indicators on sides & double triggers. Action is engraved with sprays of large shaded scroll, sideplates are attractively game scene engraved with fox vexing a flushing duck from woodlands on left plate & a trio of ducks flying over a marsh on right. Suhl blacksmith logo is on trigger plate, blued trigger guard has scroll on bow. Nicely crotch figured & lightly marbled European walnut, straight grip buttstock measures 14" over Suhl logo checkered hard rubber buttplate. Well cut multi-point pattern checkering is at grip, gun also features sling loops. Matching long splinter ejector foreend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .726 R .727. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: very fine retaining nearly all original factory finishes on wood & metal, with only a scattering of light marks & freckling mostly on right barrel. Coin finish shows some darkening which is probably hardend oil, stocks show some water spotting. Checkering has very little wear, bores are bright & shiny, mechanically fine, ejectors in time.
